Prerequisites
Students first must complete M S 201 and M S 202 with a minimum grade of C, have upper division standing, and arrange advising with a Museum Studies faculty member BEFORE admission to the Minor. Download and complete the Museum Studies Minor Advising Form (below) to bring with you to advising. Upon approved admission to the Minor, students will be eligible for MS 681, Preparation for Museum Practicum, taken concurrently with either MS 683, Collections Stewardship Practicum or MS 684, Educational Programming and Interpretation Practicum, and MS 682, the Capstone Practicum, a 120-hour practicum in a museum located off campus. MS 681, MS 683, and MS 684 all involve work in SF State’s Global Museum.
Note: All coursework in the Minor must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Declaring the Minor
Students wishing to declare a minor in Museum Studies must make an appointment with a Museum Studies faculty advisor after completing M S 201 and M S 202. Faculty advising office hours and e-mail addresses to contact them are available in the people section of the web page.
If you are a Transfer student and would like to Minor in Museum Studies, please contact a Faculty Advisor immediately.
